What is the Food Co-op?
The Food Co-op is Fort Collins' original natural foods store. We specialize in organically and locally grown produce and groceries at affordable prices. We also offer an extensive bulk selection including grains, trail mixes, beans, cruelty-free body care and cleaning products and various liquids such as tamari, honey, and oils. The reuse of bags and containers when purchasing bulk products is encouraged because it's cheaper and better for the environment.
Become a Member!
The Food Co-op is a not for profit, member driven store. Members can be involved in the organization and operation of the store. Every member has the opportunity to vote on proposed significant changes and annual board of directors elections.
Everyone is welcome to shop at the Co-op and anyone can join as a member. To become a member of the Fort Collins Food Co-op, you simply pay a $20 annual fee. It's that easy. Your membership applies to everyone in your household. If you are 60 or over, you qualify for a senior membership, and only need to pay a one-time $5 fee.
We offer a membership fee waiver to persons who qualify for low income or disability in the state of Colorado. Ask a manager for details.
You can contribute to the well-being of the Co-op in many ways. Ask a staff person for information on different programs such as the Member Loan Program and the Discount Worker Program.

The Fort Collins is a not for profit natural foods market. Our mission is to supply Co-op shoppers with the highest quality natural and organic foods at the lowest feasible costs, while providing friendly and knowledgeable customer service.
We are a cooperative community that supports the economic and social welfare of our members, and we encourage member participation and input in the political processes and daily operations of the store.
In addition, the Co-op promotes environmentally and socially conscious consumer awareness through education and by providing locally produced, organically grown, and minimally packaged products. In this way, the Fort Collins Food Co-op serves as a resource for healthy, sustainable living. We are also committed to supporting other local and global efforts that enhance the relationships among people and their environment.
The Member Loan Program is designed to augment the financial resources of the Co-op while allowing members to invest in the store and receive some financial returns.
Members who invest in the MLP benefit by receiving a straight percentage bonus on the amount loaned to the Co-op. The Co-op pays back the principle of the loan, plus the bonus, through a 20% discount on purchases (with some exceptions).
Special Orders
Participants of the MLP receive a greater discount on special order purchases than a regular member.
Originally started as a buying club, the Co-op has roots in purchasing and distributing cases and bags of food at near wholesale prices for our members. We continue that practice today by offering special prices on "case" quantities of products that are available through our wholesale distributors.
